I’m John Navarra. I’m running to include all Floridians in our culture and society and to promote real opportunities in a livable economic and natural environment.
- I was introduced to city government when my dad was a Daytona Beach city official, and my University of Alabama journalism and political science majors taught me to ask the right questions and understand how government works.
- As Secretary of the Volusia/Flagler AFL–CIO and Vice-Chair of the Volusia United Educators’ Governmental Relations Committee, I met with Florida representatives and senators. I know what laws they proposed to help low-income families (and how little those laws helped those families). I’ve tracked and lobbied for and against bills as a concerned citizen and spoken in front of the legislature.
- I’ve knocked on many doors asking what residents need for their families and what we could do to help. Upcoming retirements will produce more high-pay, high-skilled jobs in Volusia County. But we need bold new ideas to help Volusia County workers increase their job skills and earn higher wages. I’m committed and prepared to represent the Volusia County community.
- When you send me to Tallahassee, my priority will be to fight for the opportunities that residents of the Florida House of Representatives, District 28, deserve.
I welcome your questions and ideas. Let’s Build a Better Florida together…
John
